War Has Never Been This Good

Blaze Bayley gained notoriety as the front man of British legends Iron Maiden from 1994-1999. Since then, Bayley has gone on to release 11 studio albums. His 11th album, War Within Me, drops on April 9, 2021. It follows the success of his Infinate Entanglement trilogy that concluded in 2018.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Blaze Bayley prior to the album’s release. It’s always a bonus when an artist can answer all the questions I had ready to ask in just three questions. Blaze is quite the character, possibly quite mad, but more than likely he’s just super-excited about his latest release. He has much to be exited about. War Within Me is a Heavy Metal thrill-ride from beginning to end. It had me seeking out the Blaze Bayley back catalogue I’ve missed since 2002’s Tenth Dimension.

Highlights Include:

  • How Covid-related show cancellations are similar to his Wolfsbane touring days
  • Why he’s proud to include his Iron Maiden songs into his set list
  • Why he’s not a fan of huge stage productions
  • Anxiety that comes along with releasing a new album
  • … and much, much more!
