While Roy Khan joined Kamelot, Tore Østby formed the band ARK back in 1999. I received the debut album with great interest, not only because Tore was one of the most exciting guitarists Norway had to offer in the genre, but he also had brought American drummer John Macaluso onboard.

Unfortunately, I never got to see the band before they got “americanized” and David Coverdale got new lineups. I appreciated the 1987 release (actually called Whitesnake) and Slip of the Tongue (1989), but that was like a totally different band.
