California based band Seventrain first formed in 2012, and by 2014 had released their debut self-titled album with very promising results. The album charted on the CMJ Loud Rock Top 40 at #36 in its first week, and received high praise by critics worldwide. In addition, Seventrain was nominated for Best Hard Rock Album of the Year at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards.

In 2022, key Seventrain band members Eric Koonze, Dave Odegaard, Eric Horton, Greg Rupp and Calvin Lakin began working on their third effort to be released in 2023 through Steel Cartel Records.

On the Guest DJ Show this Friday, guitarist Eric Horton of Seventrain will play 10 of his favorite Heavy Metal tracks. After his playlist, we’ll play a handful of tracks off Seventrain’s 2019 release: Back on Track.

They released recordings by several local bands, and in the spirit of the old Metal Massacre compilations, he created a 2-album series called The Defenders of Metal. The albums featured classic styled Metal bands from all around the world, with bands from Australia to England, and from Argentina to Russia. Currently, he is the producer/creator/vocalist of the Metal band The Black Tuesdays.
