The former Magnum lead singer’s (but the band is making a comeback…) brand new album, Middle Earth, is inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the rings, and features lyrics and music penned by Ten main man, Gary Hughes. If that gets you excited, this album won’t disappoint you. However, for non-fans of Ten, or old Magnum fans, this will sound a little bit silly. It’s a pompous piece of rock music, only saved by Bob’s voice, and a few decent songs. Sorry, but I think I ‘ll wait for the new Magnum album. Hope it is better than this…
Highlights: City Walls, Return of the mountain King, The End of summer
