SKELATOR – Cyber Metal

Cyber Metal from West Coast metallers Skelator is such a delicious combination of badass metal genres that it may be deserving of a new genre name. Perhaps Epic Power Thrash, or maybe New Wave of West Coast Heavy Metal will do. Regardless of what you want to call it, this no-filler-all-killer collection of stripped down Thrash leaning tunes packs a serious punch both in terms of songwriting and musicianship.

The lyrical themes found within this album are fun but somehow not too overused. Ranging from anime and classic 80’s films (“Akira”, and “Highlander”) to more general metal territory on “The Hammer”, all of the lyrical concepts are fitting, passionate, and very enjoyable.
