It seems that the more Myrath embraces their Tunisian heritage, the more success they have. On Shehili, we find Myrath basking, once again, in exotic melodies and intoxicating blends of Melodic and Progressive Metal. Easily one of the most unique sounding bands in metal today, Myrath is building a momentum and may be on their way to world-stage status.

Shehili is slightly more commercial sounding than some of their previous efforts. On some tracks the orchestral arrangements overpower the once prominent guitar work. Fortunately for the audience, Myrath have included a few noticeably heavier tracks like “Darkness Arise” and “You’ve Lost Yourself”. That being said, their more mid-tempo numbers are still quite powerful. Shehili contains several standout tracks like “Born To Survive”, “Dance”, and “No Holding Back”. Zaher Zorgati’s vocals are excellent and seem to impress listeners more and more with each album. Equally fitting and impressive is the tight, technically excellent guitar work from Malek Arbia. With a release this strong and an impressive back-catalog, one wonders if Myrath will take some time off or continue on their 1,000 ton desert train through the sands of time.

Fans of Dream Theater, Symphony-X, and Fates Warning will love Shehili, and listeners who are completely new to the band will be thrilled upon their first list.
