Spanning 3 CDs, this expansive 30th anniversary edition of Judas Priest’s 1986 album Turbo is a fitting tribute to an album that history continues to favor increasingly well as time goes on. Criticized as too commercial sounding when it came out, Turbo contains a number of hidden gems like “Locked In”, “Hot For Love” and “Reckless”. The original studio album gets a remastering treatment and while that is nothing new for Turbo, this edition retains a sonic clarity and warmth that earlier remastered versions seemed to be lacking.

The real treat here is the 2 bonus discs, featuring Priest’s previously unreleased live performance in Kansas City from the 1986 Fuel For Life tour. This was a time when Priest was executing their live show to its full potential with the classic 80’s lineup of Halford, Tipton, Downing, Hill and Holland. Turbo 30‘s live tracks along with various concert footage from that era bear witness to the greatness of a Judas Priest live show. The bonus discs feature live versions of Turbo tracks along with the standard classics like “Some Heads Are Gonna Roll”, “Freewheel Burning”, “Hell Bent For Leather” and more, all in fantastic 80’s multitracked, sonic heaviness . This release will be pure ear-candy for any Judas Priest fan or general 80’s Metal fan.

Highlights include the live versions of “Turbo Lover”, “Desert Plains”, “The Sentinel” and “Out In The Cold”.
