Italian metal men Tytus present their first offering, Rises. These experienced musicians take on the theme of the sun. To its honor! And its ominous power! The record begins with a chant to our stellar god, then goes right into this album’s essence: loud, fast, aggressive Metal.

The prominent showcase of this record is the dual guitar soloing flanking your head in stereo—a delight for headphone listening. Riffmeister and Hell (the guitarists) compliment each other’s fingerwork perfectly for that iconic NWOBHM sound. The other half of the foursome, Moon and Bardy, lay an energetic foundation and keep the whole thing fast and direct with no ballads. The only softness is the final track. Here, Tytus lays down an acoustic curtain call with semi-psychedelic organ accompaniment. All in all, Rises is a simple, splendid reworking of classic Metal delight.

Jude was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio, living in Taiwan but originally from the great state of Ohio, USA. He first got into music when a fellow weirdo in his catholic high school needed someone to play guitar with. They jammed on some Grunge Rock, but soon he got hooked on the blisteringly-fast shredding of Randy Rhoads and other greats. Later, he bought Metallica's Ride The Lightning as his first album purchase. During that time, his friends and him would end up at local Metal shows. He played in some bands himself as well.
