Delain, a Dutch female-fronted Symphonic Metal band, has gained notice over the past several years, and Interlude is their latest offering (7 studio & 6 live tracks). Of the 7 studio tracks, 3 are covers and 2 are remixes – it’s fair to say there’s not a whole lot of “new” material on offer here. However, “new” tracks “Breathe On Me” and “Collars And Suits” are outstanding compositions, and Charlotte Wessels’ voice mesmerizes with unique yearning optimism amid lyrics laced with tragedy and sorrow. Live tracks included, Interlude serves as a good introduction to a band worthy of your attention.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
