Hard Rock At It’s Finest

From the band that had it’s self-titled debut in 2013, to the newest album Radiance coming out this week, no one can touch The Dead Daisies for pure Rock and Roll with the heaviest grooves and foot stomping energy. Though their lineup has varied greatly over the years, it can easily be said that the current group is by far the apex for The Dead Daisies. “The Voice of Rock” himself, Mr. Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion) brings his powerful voice and solid bass to the mix, with guitarists Doug Aldrich (Dio, Whitesnake) and David Lowy (Red Phoenix, Mink) and drummer Brian Tichy perfecting the chemistry.

Brilliance Shines Throughout

The Dead Daisies – Radiance is the post-pandemic effort from what can only be called the preeminent heavy rock band today. 2022 saw drummer extraordinaire Brian Tichy’s return to the fold, and the band writing and recording the new album with Producer Ben Grosse once again at the helm. Listening to Radiance feels like a visit an old friend from the hey day of Hard Rock has come over to hang out, drink whiskey and party all night. From the opener “Face Your Fear”, to the incredible grooves in “Shine On”, the album has everything you could hope for from these rock legends, and more.

Final Notes

When you combine the experience, skill and chemistry of these 4 musical legends on an album, the resulting music can only be extraordinary. Radiance feels like a culmination of where The Dead Daisies were always heading, and have reached the top. The album is a great listen, with familiar yet new riffs, melodies that flow perfectly with the music, and a thunderous rhythm section to anchor everything. For this reviewer, it’s by far their best effort, and a definite must for those who love heavy rock from the 70s and early 80s. The Dead Daisies – Radiance: a definite must own.
