YOB finally made their way back to Salt Lake City. When I arrived at the venue (Soundwell), it was great to see a line down the block of fans ready for the heaviness that is YOB.

Singer/guitarist Mike Scheidt and bassist Aaron Rieseberg, along with Dave French from Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth (who was filling in for Travis Foster who is taking some time away from shows), rounded out the nights trio.

The powerful setlist which included songs like “Atma”, “Prepare the Ground”, “Burning the Altar”, “The Lie That Is Sin” and “Adrift in the Ocean” had the crowd hypnotized. For those who were seeing them for the first time were really taken in by how thunderous the live shows are. As one fan stated “It’s so fricken heavy”.

YOB once again showed why this Oregon band has made a name for themselves and why there is a lot more to come. Mike mentioned next time, they will have new music to share with us, which I can’t wait to hear.
