MARTA GABRIEL (CRYSTAL VIPER): “The Cult Album Is Bringing Us To Our Early Days”

Marta Gabriel

The Viper Strikes Again

I had never heard of Crystal Viper until I previewed their upcoming album The Cult. It was hard for me to believe this band has been around for 15 years and I was just learning about them now. The Cult is the follow-up to 2019’s Tales of Fire and Ice and gets its official release on February 12, 2021 through Listenable Records. I had to find out more about Crystal Viper. I went right to guitarist/vocalist Marta Gabriel and she answered everything I wanted to know.

Highlights include:

  • Discussion of The Cult
  • How H.P. Lovecraft inspired her lyrics
  • How King Diamond’s Andy LaRocque made it on the album
  • Why Crystal Viper is now on Listenable Records
  • Marta’s appreciation for vinyl and her first musical crush
  • Gabriel’s best and worst gigs
  • Did the band once stay at a hotel that used to be an asylum?
  • …and much, much more!

Crystal Viper is:

Marta Gabriel – Vocals, Guitar
Andy Wave – Guitar
Eric Juris – Guitar
Blaze Grygiel – Bass
Cederick Forsberg – Drums
