Live In Japan 2018 is the latest live album release from American Power Metal Band Riot V. Originally christened Riot, the newly reformed band (minus the now-deceased founding member Mark Reale) has adopted the moniker Riot V, and produced live cd and DVD of the best of their classic material, performed March 11, 2018, at Club Citta in Japan.

The band has enjoyed much success there in their 40+ year career and felt that the Japanese fan base would provide an ideal backdrop to this career-spanning live album. The current lineup of Riot V includes Todd Michael Hall – Vocals, Don van Stavern – Bass, Mike Flyntz – Guitars, Nick Lee – Guitars, and Frank Gilchriest – Drums. Live In Japan 2018 includes 23 tracks from several of Riot albums, including the entirety of Thundersteel, which was their most successful release.

Live In Japan is a good sounding record, with good performances across the board. It’s a long record at over and hour and fifty minutes, but fans of Riot, Power Metal, and Melodic Metal should check out Live In Japan 2018.

Stevie was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. He is currently the lead guitarist for Melodic Rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
