Foghat still remains one of the must see bands today. Since their formation in 1971 London, with members from Savoy Brown and Black Cat Bones, their straight forward boogie woogie Rock and Roll is timeless. The show started with “Driving Wheel” off the 1976 Night shift album, and set the stage for a great night of music in Sandy, Utah (setlist below).

Roger Earl, one of the original members of Foghat, was superb behind the kit as they then played “Road Fever” from the 1972 self titled album Foghat and “Stone Blue” which was their 7th studio album released in 1978. Bryan Bassett’s brilliant guitar work really began to shine with song “Chateau Lafitte ’59 Boogie” highlighting Foghat’s classic slide guitar sound.

Charlie Huhn, who joined Foghat in August of 2001, seemed to feel right at home as frontman. His vocals were powerful and spot on, singing not only Foghat music, but cover songs from such artists as Al Green and Willie Dixon. Rodney O’Quinn was called upon in 2015 to fill in for “Mac”, was a beast on the bass guitar. Hammering his was through the night and finishing strong with such Foghat classics “Fool for the City” and “Slowride”.

Their tour will take them around the country though 2019, and I highly recommend you put this show on your list.

  1. I saw Foghat for the first time a couple years ago at the Linn County fair. They did not disappoint. I’m hoping they get back this way so I can see them again. A great b as and that puts on a great show.
