D-A-D – A Prayer For The Loud

Danish Hard Rock outfit D-A-D are back with their first new album in 8 years. A Prayer For The Loud features the band’s signature, no-nonsense, straight-ahead Rock sound. Through no fault of their own, this album manages to be their most relevant in decades. Times and tastes have changed and D-A-D’s sound is currently on the up-swing. Although newcomers to the band’s audience might confuse them for another new stripped-down Hard Rock group, it could be argued that D-A-D helped invent the sound that is now so popular.

Fans of the more accessible Motorhead material, The Dead Daises, and maybe even Black Star Riders will be right at home while listening to A Prayer For The Loud. Lead single “Burning Star” represents the overall album well and even makes for an interesting music video. If anything, D-A-D proves that the sound of a Les Paul cranked up through a vintage tube amp is simple timeless. Although D-A-D are not exactly breaking any new ground here, the ability of this group to appeal to fans of the old-school and new is truly impressive.
