Fractal Cypher is a new band formed in 2014 out of Montreal, Canada, and The Human Paradox is their debut release. As a definitive Progressive Metal band, perhaps a quote from the band’s CD booklet is appropriate: “Words are only letters on paper without someone to read them, and music only sounds without someone’s soul to make it travel.” Impressively cerebral, which is exactly what you get with this album. It’s written well and performed precisely. The lyrics are insightful and reflective, and the music at times can indeed be soul touching. Progressive Metal fans won’t go wrong with this one!

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
