Brainstorm is a veteran Power Metal band from Germany, and Scary Creatures is their 11th studio album, coming off the wings of their most successful album to date entitled Firesoul.  Scary Creatures contains 10 tracks of no frills Power Metal, generally within the German Power Metal framework, which is fast, rough, and dirty. Fans of that flavor of Power Metal will likely enjoy Scary Creatures, as there are no “bad” songs on the album. The problem is, there aren’t really any songs on the release that will knock your socks off either, making for a slightly above average overall effort.
