Zak Stevens is best known for his tenure as frontman for Savatage … right up to the point when most of Savatage decided to conjure up Christmas cheer every year via the hugely successful Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Stevens formed Circle II Circle shortly after the turn of the century, and it’s hard to believe, but Reign Of Darkness is the band’s 7th studio album.

Circle II Circle mixes Progressive elements into their Melodic Metal foundation, and by and large the formula continues to work for the Reign Of Darkness album. Nothing mind-blowing here, but this release is definitely worth your attention.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
