Praying Mantis is a Melodic Hard Rock band out of the UK who has consistently flown (undeservedly) under the “big time” spotlight despite consistent quality musical output. Their latest offering, Legacy, is no exception.

With new vocalist Jaycee Cujipers at the mic adding just enough grit to Praying Mantis’ otherwise smooth delivery, Legacy comes through as an upbeat easy listen. Coming in at just under an hour, Legacy’s 11 tracks are all catchy, well-written, and well-played. Although once classified as a NWOBHM band, Legacy certainly doesn’t fit that mold, but if you like quality Hard Rock, check this one out.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
