Serious Black is a new “supergroup” that wants to differentiate themselves from other supergroups that are more project-based rather than band-based.  With members coming from the cream of the crop in Power, Progressive, and Epic Metal – Helloween, Blind Guardian, Edenbridge, Visions Of Atlantis, and Dreamscape – Serious Black certainly has the talent to be a “superband.”  With Urban Breed (Tad Morose) at the mic, As Daylight Breaks is a solid debut that should get you excited if you dig the aforementioned subgenres.  This album wonderfully contains elements of each band member’s experience, and is an impressive way to kick off 2015!

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
