Magic is the third studio release from Spanish Power Metal Band Serious Black.  Composed of members of Firewind, Rhapsody, Tad Morose, Edenbridge, Visions of Atlantis and Dreamscape, Serious Black is a serious contender for the Power Metal crown.  Members Urban Breed, Vocals; Bob Katsionis, Guitar; Alex Hozwath, Drums; Jan Vacik, Keyboards; Dominik Sebastian, Guitar; and Mario Lochert, Bass, have collaborated to craft an exceptional, hook laden Power Metal extravaganza.  Magic begins with “With A Tip Of The Hat”, a 46-second intro that sets the tone for the record, a tasteful blend of drama with a soaring melody, and high level musicianship.  Most every song is well written, well executed, and the production value is excellent.  Magic is a great sounding record, and the 14 songs deliver.  Hot spots “Burn Witches Burn”, “Now You’ll Never Know” and “Skeletons On Parade” stand only slightly taller than every other song on Magic, making it a very enjoyable Power Metal listen from beginning to end.

Elements of Progressive Metal and Epic Metal permeate, and, at times, take on a very Dream Theater vibe, but always maintain the melodic content and song flow.  There is no sacrifice of the song to musical grandstanding, even though there are many shining moments of musicianship on Magic.  Fans of Power Metal, Progressive Metal, and Serious Black will definitely want to check this out.  Fans of any genre of Metal should give ear to Magic. Serious Black have got a winner here.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
