Grave Digger is a Power/Thrash Metal band from Germany formed way back in 1980, and Return Of The Reaper is their 17th studio record. Along with Helloween, Grave Digger gets credit for the genesis of the German Power Metal movement; however, they have incorporated significant Thrash and Epic elements into their music as well. The album starts out a bit “spooky” (almost comically so), but quickly develops into a high quality rough and dirty Power/Thrash Metal album, as the Germans have largely perfected over the years. Occasional corny lyrics and song topics aside, this is a release worth checking out.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
