WAMI is an acronym formed from the names of the members of a new “supergroup.” The idea for the band began after Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy bassist) was impressed by the guitarist from their supporting act – Iggy Gwadera; a “man child” virtuoso from Anti Tank Nun. The legendary Vinnie Appice on drums and ex-Malmsteen/Rainbow/MSG vocalist Doogie White round out the band, which plays a Bluesy, yet ballsy, version of Hard Rock that pairs plenty of melody with Gwadera’s “fresh” guitar playing. Kill The King may not change your life, but it’s an enjoyable listen and worthy of your attention.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
