Gloryful is a German Power/Traditional Metal band, and Ocean Blade is their sophomore full-length release, which carries along an adventurous storyline. Johnny la Bomba handles the vocals for Gloryful, which vary between totally clean and aggressively clean, with occasional shouts in the background. There are a few “epic” tracks included within the album’s 10, and overall the musicianship and song structures exemplify quality Old School Power Metal. However, after an impressive opening into Ocean Blade, the album tends to suffer from many of the songs coming through sounding too much like the others, making for quite an “unoriginal” sounding release.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
