Brainstorm is a German Traditional/Power Metal band and Firesoul is their latest offering. To get it out of the way first, the production quality of Firesoul basically sucks — think Judas Priest Stained Class. But, like that classic album, Firesoul flat out rocks from beginning to end, meshing in a blend of fast-tempo Traditional Metal (a la Priest’s “Exciter” or “Painkiller”) with Power Metal (especially American varieties like Iced Earth who mesh in occasional Progressive elements). Andy Franck at the microphone hinges on being over the top, but demonstrates a high degree of “True Metal” talent. Give Firesoul a chance.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
