Gamma Ray, one of the premiere German Power Metal bands of all time, led by mastermind guitarist/vocalist Kai Hansen, is at it again with their 11th studio release entitled Empire Of The Undead. While their main “competitor” in Germany’s Power Metal scene (Helloween) continues to stay pretty true to form with their musical approach, Gamma Ray has opted to be a bit more Melodic and Traditional in their Metal approach vs. straight Power Metal. By and large it works, although Hansen has a tendency to get a little ludicrous with his messages. Still, a strong effort and worth checking out.
