DGM is an Italian-based Progressive Power Metal band, and Momentum is their 8th release. Momentum starts out strong with “Reason,” featuring a guest appearance by Russell Allen (Symphony X/Adrenaline Mob), and midway through Jørn Viggo Loftstad (Norway’s Pagan’s Mind) shows his brilliance as guest guitarist on the track “Chaos”. However, other memorable moments within Momentum are too few and far between. Also, for a Progressive Power Metal album (which usually boasts outstanding production quality), Momentum comes across as noisy and discombobulated. Positively, there’s some impressive work by guitarist Simone Mularoni, but not enough to pull this release out of the throes of mediocrity.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
