D-A-D is a Danish Melodic Hard Rock band who’s been knocking out solid material since 1986, but has been “the property” of essentially Scandinavia – unfortunately a well-kept secret to especially North America. Dic.Nii.Lan.Daft.Erd.Ark (Disney Land After Dark) was released in 2011, and was nominated as Album Of The Year by the Danish Music Awards. It’s being re-released now with plenty of “deluxe” niceties, including a host of acoustical tracks and live versions of some of D-A-D’s best. D-A-D’s known for catchy music mixed with humor with melancholy themes – often ingeniously – and this album with its extras is worth your attention.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
