Darren Wharton takes a break from his Thin Lizzy touring, and releases another album under the Dare moniker. Those of you looking for more Lizzy-sounding music, better turn elsewhere. Peaceful, moody and atmospheric, Belief, is a long way from Thunder and lightning.
Belief sounds a lot like the last record from Dare, but the songs are a lot better! Dare’s unique blend of Irish traditional music, AOR and pop-melodies have never been better, and this album proves Darren has not lost his touch for writing good songs. The only complaint I can have, is that the album lacks any distinctive hit singles, or a stand-out, up-tempo song. But maybe that’s the point?

Anyway, Belief is a really good record, and could be the one record your girlfriend can listen to without complaining. All you need is some good wine and some candles….

Highlights: Run Wild Run Free, Dreams On Fire, Silent Thunder
