The last album by the Swiss, Open, was a very good AOR record, even with a pretty hard edge to it. Homerun continues in the same way, but this time the band is not saved by the same incredible songwriting. If possible, the new record contains even more ballads tahn ever, and sell out bands like Aerosmith and Scorpions come to mind. The title track is strong, and a few others are okay, but it is now time to stand up and demand more fuzz. I don’t want to mention Aerosmith and The Scorps next time I review an album by Gotthard. In general, music is always best when the creators are hungry, but Gotthard have fed their bellies with success too long.
