In 1997 Folk Metal pioneers Skyclad had already recorded 8 albums. The new one, The Answer Machine? still had the strong folk feel to it, but it showed a less aggressive band since the 1991 debut The Wayward Sons of Mother Earth. In this interview from 1997 guitarist and founding member Steve Ramsey (ex-Satan/Pariah) explains how the band’s unique style came about, how the band avoids to repeat themselves and what the plans are now that the lineup has been reduced to a quartet.
