This Friday’s Guest DJ: HELLGRIMM

This week’s show is hosted by Hellgrimm! A power trio forged in 2018 that delves into the darkness of addictions, death, and demons with stories based in fiction and fact. Nostalgia for 1970s – 80s stadium rock weaves through this gut punch of sonic wizardry. The music conjures spells of destruction and salvation and fights and woos demons, physical and psychological. Their rhythmic melodies are punctuated by haunting solos and a piercing voice gives hope that there may be paths out of the darkness.

Sacrifice, Hellgrimm’s fifth studio album, arrived in March 2024. An 11-song, hard-hitting, rock album, recorded and co-produced by Hellgrimm’s long-time engineer, Daisun de Rijk, Sacrifice is the eagerly-awaited follow up to the album Ritual. The first single “Speed Demon” features drummer extraordinaire Mike Heller (Raven, Control/Resist, Malignancy, formerly of Fear Factory).

This Friday’s Guest DJ Show features the band’s guitarist Jerry Connor playing his favorite and/or inspirational tracks! After Jerry presents his classic metal playlist stick around for a selection of songs from their new ass kicking album! It all happens this Friday!

In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
