“GERRE” GEREMIA (TANKARD): “As A Band It’s Really Important That The Old Stuff Is Available”

Tankard in the 80s

One of Germany’s Big 4

To celebrate their 40th anniversary, German Thrash Metal legends Tankard are set to release an extensive box set that is sure to please their legions of fans. For a Thousand Beers: The Noise Records Years will be released on February 25, 2022.

It is packaged in a replica beer case and comes in two formats, CD and vinyl. The box set collects Tankard’s studio albums from 1986’s Zombie Attack to 1995’s The Tankard, including the Alien and Tankwart EPs. Also included is the DVD live performance Fat, Ugly & Live, plus two never before released live performances. An extensive 40 page booklet with photos, lyrics, and more rounds out the set.

I had the chance to speak with Tankard vocalist ”Gerre” Geremia, who’s been there since the beginning, to talk about this momentous 40th anniversary box set.

Highlights include

  • Discussion of the For A Thousand Beers Box Set
  • Where there any issues in getting the live or recorded footage
  • Is there anything that had to be left out of the box set

  • What was the craziest “rockstar” moment Tankard was a part of
