Pumpkins United

As long as can be remembered among Helloween fans the debate has been over who is the best vocalist in the band, and who should be singing. There are fans that wish Kai Hansen was still the vocalist as in the beginning, while others yearn for the Michael Kiske era lineup. Still more fans love Andi Deris who has fronted the group since 1993, and more than established himself as the voice of the band. The debate is over now, and no matter which singer you prefer, Helloween has you covered as the band is now officially a 7 piece group with all 3 vocalists playing a part in the sound. After the success of the Pumpkins United tour, Helloween has listened to fans and has released the first single off of the upcoming album simply titled Helloween.

Skyfall Times 2

The first taste fans get of the mighty legends of Power Metal comes in the form of a single release on CD “Skyfall” coming in at a healthy 7:20, along with a 12+ minute alternate version that has a lot more shared vocals. Written by Kai Hansen, “Skyfall” brings the band back to that “Keeper of the 7 keys” feel that many feel was the golden era of the band. What is great about “Skyfall” is how well all the singers work together to capture the moment, each playing off of their own strengths. The CD includes lyrics for the amazing alternate mix (preferred by this reviewer), allowing fans to check their skills they know who is singing which part

One Big Family

Returnee Kai Hansen reflects: ”Being in the studio with my old companions after 30 years was very emotional for me. But at the same time it was a completely different experience with the ‘new‘ boys. The collaboration of different songwriters and strong characters made the album very special: a unique mix with reminiscences from all chapters of the band’s history.” Michael Weikath characterizes in his own way: ”It is the incomprehensible encounter of seven musicians who are working as friends and even family and created something that no one would have thought it could be possible. It is like awaking from a sleep but still being in an incredible dream“.
