BRIAN WHEAT (TESLA, SOULMOTOR): “I Didn’t Throw Him Out Of The Band, [TOMMY SKEOCH] Was Voted Out Unanimously”

Cumin’ Atcha in Writing

Brian Wheat is a founding member of the multi-platinum Rock band Tesla. The bassist has been there during the good times and the bad times from 1982 through today. Brian decided to document his successes, excesses, set backs, and triumphs in his new autobiography Son of a Milkman: My Crazy Life with Tesla [review]. Not only does Wheat share stories from the road and the studio, but he also shares his deeply personal medical challenges in hopes to help those that are struggling with similar issues. I had the chance to speak with Brain Wheat about his “crazy life.”

Highlights include:

  • Discussion of his new book Son of a Milkman
  • Dealing with anxiety and depression
  • How he wasn’t happy with Mechanical Resonance
  • Working with the late Ronnie Montrose
  • Walking former Tesla guitarist Tommy Skeoch on a leash
  • Is anyone is Tesla mad about what’s in the book
  • His friendship with Joe and Phil of Def Leppard
  • His recording studio and entertainment projects
  • What happened to Soulmotor
  • … and much, much more!
