Swedish Melodic Metal Stands Tall

Six Foot Six have just released their 2nd full length album, chock full of big melodies and sing along choruses that keep you headbanging from start to finish. End of All from Scarlet Records comes in at just over 54 minutes and showcases the talents of Christoffer Borg (ex-Art Nation) on guitars, Kristoffer Göbel (ex-Falconer) on vocals and guitars with Markus Gustafsson (Rock Circus) playing bass and Henrik Hedman (Vindictiv, Rock Circus, ex-Celestial Decay, ex-Last Kingdom) on the drums.

Slick Production

As more and more bands go the route of self producing, more and more great music makes its way to the fans as the artists envisioned it. Six Foot Six have accomplished this with End of All, as the album was produced, mixed and engineered by Christoffer Borg; co-produced and co-mixed by Kristoffer Göbel at Top Floor Studios and Far Beyond Productions (Gothenburg). The vocals are prominent in the mix, as the instruments are nicely balanced to great effect giving the listener an album that’s easy to listen to, and listen to again.

Favorite Tracks

“Welcome to Your Nightmare” kicks off the album with a crunchy sing along that grabs you from start to finish with its catchy lyrics and cool feel. The title track “End of All” follows with more strong melodies and choruses to suck you in and keep you engaged, while the guitars riff and play just enough solos to accentuate the solid arrangement. Kristoffer Göbel does a fantastic job on vocals, giving a solid performance on every track. Another favorite of this reviewer is “In God We Trust” with its moody intro, its sweet guitar work and its tight production.

Final Notes

Six Foot Six are on the rise, and End of All shows how much talent the band has at songwriting and arranging. They have all of the tools with great vocals, smoking guitar harmonies and a solid, straight forward Melodic Metal sound. The excellent album artwork by Stan W. Decker (DragonForce, Rage, Primal Fear) will remind us of the year 2020 with its depiction of the plague doctor, while the music is strong enough to leave its own impact on Melodic Metal fans for years to come. Fans of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar and Helloween should add this very solid release to your metal collection.  Support bands you love by getting their physical media, like the nice 6 panel digi-pack of End of All.

About Bryce Van Patten 334 Articles
Bryce is an audio engineer and a graphic designer here at Metal Express Radio. From the day he purchased his first album (Machine Head by Deep Purple), he has had a passion for heavy music, which has influenced his whole life. Bryce is from the great Pacific Northwest in USA, and has played in metal bands like Babylon, Holy Terror, The Wild Dogs, Warhead and Egypt through the 80s. He had his first interview for the Portland, Oregon publication The Rock Rag with guitarist Paul Gilbert in his Racer X days. Then he was honored to get to have drinks, and talk for an hour with the legendary Dan McCafferty of Nazareth for his second interview. In 2013, he spent an amazing hour talking to Andi Deris of Helloween, which was the high point of his heavy metal journalism.   In the year 2001, he formed Man in Black Music Publishing. They released recordings by several local bands, and in the spirit of the old Metal Massacre compilations, he created a 2-album series called The Defenders of Metal. The albums featured classic styled Metal bands from all around the world, with bands from Australia to England, and from Argentina to Russia. Currently, he is the producer/creator/vocalist of the Metal band The Black Tuesdays.
