Heads Have Got To Rock ‘N’ Roll is the third album from Norway based Rock And Roll band Magick Touch. Formed in 2016, the current lineup features bassist/vocalist Christer Ottesen, drummer Bård Heavy Nordvik, and guitarist HK Rein.

Magick Touch definitely has a 70’s rock flavor and a very clear Thin Lizzy influence. The record has a fair amount of era-correct muddiness, but the music is well performed. The songwriting is solid, and the musical performances are on point.

There is a good mix of radio-friendly songs and deep cuts, and even some fairly progressive rock styling on Heads Have Got To Rock’ N’ Roll. The opening track, “(This Isn’t) Your First Rodeo” is one of the more radio-ready tracks, with a big hook chorus and enough slop left in to really convey a raw 70’s vibe. “To The Limit” has a Thin Lizzy meets Kiss flavor. “Love Is A Heart Disease” gives a Velvet Revolver vibe. “Bad Decision” is one of the stronger tracks and portrays the strongest Thin Lizzy vibe. “Phantom Friend” is one of the more interesting tracks, delving into some deep blue, progressive vibes, and experimental tones.

Magick Touch has put together an enjoyable record overall. Fans of their previous work, fans of 70’s Rock, Thin Lizzy, early Kiss, and that sort of raw bluesy rock should check out Heads Have Got To Rock’ N’ Roll.

Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
