This Friday’s Guest DJs: DEAD RITES

Dead Rites

In a city littered with deathcore and death metal, Atlanta’s Dead Rites is a band that offers a sound that rises to the top of the heap. Formed in 2004 by lead vocalist/songwriter Radu, Dead Rites is the ultimate fusion of his favorite genres of music. Since 2005 they released several critically acclaimed full length albums and one special edition live album. Also, since then the band has been maintaining an exhausting touring schedule, sharing the stage with acts such as Moonspell, Divine Heresy, Deconstruct, Bleed the Sky, Kittie, To Die for, Virgin Black, Prong, LA Guns, etc.

After several years hiatus, in 2018 Dead Rites, having current lineup Radu (vocals), Paul (guitars), Isidore (guitars), Max (bass) and Zach (drums), got together with Andy Reilley who worked with Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson’s solo album to produce the latest album that they call Obscure, released this year.

Dead Rites’ Radu hosts this week’s Guest DJ program, having a lot to share.

Tune in at 15:00 and 21:00 CET/ 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EST this Friday to hear the show!

Stig is the founder and the president of Metal Express Radio, based out of Oslo, Norway. He has been around doing Metal radio since the mid-eighties. In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
