Interstate 13 is the third record from Swedish Hard Rock band Pretty Wild. Formed in 2006, Pretty Wild was dedicated to the 80s Hard Rock/ Hair Metal Sound. With this latest effort, they have handily achieved that. Even the production sounds like it is from the 80s. If you were to tell someone this record was released in 1986, there would be little doubt of the accuracy of that statement.

The band has evolved since its inception, with some of the members now hailing from the USA. The current lineup is Ivan Ivve Höglund, vocals; Axl Ludwig, guitar; Kim Chevelle, bass; and Johnny Benson, drums. Interstate 13 really does a good job of capturing the Hair Metal vibe. Lots of lush keyboards, upper register vocals, ripping guitar solos, and big hooky choruses. Sonically, the drums, guitars, and keys really reflect an 80s production value. Interstate 13 starts off with a bang with “Lets Get It Out”, a fast paced rocker with such a vaguely familiar sound, you might swear you’ve heard it before.

Pretty Wild really lands the 80s aesthetic, and much of this record will certainly evoke reminiscing to that era. Fans of 80s Hard Rock and Hair Metal will definitely want to take a ride down Interstate 13.

Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
