This Friday’s Guest DJ hosts: WAKE THE NATIONS!

Wake The Nations

Heart-shaped rock from Finland – this is Wake The Nations!

Initially the idea was to record already written songs just for his own sake, with good quality. But things got more and more ambitious… Risto Tuominen came up with a thought of ‘Wake the Nations’ project band. Live performance in DBTL festival 2015 was a turning point: WTN opened for Sunrise Avenue and got some international interest after their show. Ever since, the band have been playing numerous gigs.

After the 2015 album Sign of Heart, during the years 2016-2018, WTN wrote and recorded material for Heartrock to be released in January 2019 with current lineup: Krister (vocals), Risto (guitar/backing vocals), Gekko (bass), Jori (keyboard) and Tuomas (drums).

Wake the Nations‘s Gekko is this week’s Guest DJ to preset the entire band’s favorite tracks. Make sure you don’t miss it!

Tune in at 15:00 and 21:00 CET/ 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EST this Friday to hear the show!

In fact, running Metal Express Radio takes almost all of his time. Is it worth it...? "Most times, yes," Stig says. "My philosophy is to try to give all Metal releases a fair chance to get promoted in one way or another. As you can imagine, it can be an arduous task to listen through about 20 albums every week! Still, I know we have the best METAL dedicated radio on this planet, and that is a reward in and of itself. I hope one day the whole Metal community can and will make listening to Metal Express Radio part of their daily rituals! Yeah, right..."
