Heartrock is the second record from a band that was never intended to be a band. Wake The Nations began as the brainchild of Human Temple guitarist Risto Tuominen, and was intended to be a solo album. Touminen recruited some fellow members of Human Temple to record some songs that he had written, but never recorded. As the recording process went on, more and more contributors came on board. When it came time to record vocals, Touminen felt that the project had taken on a life of its own, and so, unsure of his lead vocal capabilities, he found Estef Martinez (Insider) from Ecuador, Dado Topić (Time) from Croatia, Taage Laiho (Kilpi), and Nils Nordling (Silver Bullet).

The end result was the record Sign Of The Heart. There was never a plan to tour, or even perform the music live, but when a line up was assembled to play an album release show, Wake The Nations was brought to life. Now, with the release of Heartrock, the Finnish AOR/Melodic Rock band establishes themselves as a contender from a region of the world producing the finest Melodic Rock to be found. Excellent production, excellent performances, solid songwriting. Heartrock is a good listen, start to finish for any Melodic Rock/AOR fan.

Stevie was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio. He is currently the lead guitarist for Melodic Rock band Red Reign, based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. Red Reign toured with Tesla in 2017, and shared the stage with Dokken, FireHouse, Lita Ford, Kix, Quiet Riot, and others at various dates around the US in 2018. Stevie heard his first KISS record at the age of 6 and was immediately hooked on Rock and Roll guitar. Over the course of years his tastes evolved, graduating from KISS to Ozzy and Van Halen; and then into Hair Metal. Over time, harder and faster music drew him. Bands like Metallica, Pantera, and Anthrax led the way, and Killswitch Engage took him over the top. Stevie has a deep passion for the guitar, not only playing them, but building them as well.
