The second album by Norwegian band Ghost Avenue brings the Traditional Metal sound with a more serious approach than their debut. Ghost Avenue really stick to an ’80s sound here. With Impact you’ll get an LP that does well in honoring the greatness of that era. One nuance exemplifying their dedication is the metal-horns mouse pointer you’ll get when visiting their website.

With a sound along the lines of The Scorpions and Judas Priest, there are plenty of solos and fist-pumping moments on Impact. Guitars are great on “Dancing With The Devil”, with some unique power chords and splendid soloing. A well-played bass by Magnus Liseter is nice and loud, refreshingly staying out of the background and becoming a lead instrument on most of the album. Top this with a serving of Kim Sandvik on vocals, and you’ve got a bountiful meal to satisfy your Metal cravings.

Jude was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio, living in Taiwan but originally from the great state of Ohio, USA. He first got into music when a fellow weirdo in his catholic high school needed someone to play guitar with. They jammed on some Grunge Rock, but soon he got hooked on the blisteringly-fast shredding of Randy Rhoads and other greats. Later, he bought Metallica's Ride The Lightning as his first album purchase. During that time, his friends and him would end up at local Metal shows. He played in some bands himself as well.
