Austria is known for its natural beauty. But instead of the Alps, fill your essence with the majestic Austrian Goth Metal of Darkwell, who are set for their third release, Moloch. The album has an appropriately medieval feel. Ominous vocals pleasantly intertwine with the crunchy riffs. “Save My Sight” and “Yoshiwara” are great examples of what the band can do. In fact, all of the songs on Moloch do well at building evenly and leading into a dominant chorus.

Darkwell’s female-fronted chanting is rather unique, but may be puzzling to some. However, this feature makes the album an ideal candidate for injecting some variety into your musical mix. If you’re looking for a new sound, add Darkwell to your playlist, put it on shuffle, and wait for the pleasant surprise of a Moloch track to appear.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
