BLACK SWAMP WATER – Chapter One

Black Swamp Water is a new Danish band, and their debut is conservatively entitled Chapter One. As the name of the band would indicate, there’s plenty of “swamp” in their style of music, which is rather intriguing since most band members come from aggressive Metal backgrounds. Nonetheless, Chapter One stylistically falls somewhere between American swampers Corrosion Of Conformity and Clutch, with a bit of Candlemass-ish Doom Metal thrown in to round out their originality. Overall, this album may be an acquired taste, but it’s recorded well and has enough merit which definitely should keep your interest from start to finish.
