Seventh Veil is a relatively new band out of Italy, and Vox Animae is their debut full-length release.  Musically, the band blends in elements of Modern Hard Rock, Melodic Metal, and Doom Metal.  The riffing and musicianship is average, but common for bands that delve in the Modern Hard Rock/Metal arena.  Topically, the band’s lyrics are filled with emotion about life and relationships — perhaps a bit “oversold” by vocalist Lorenzo Bertasi, but he deserves respect for trying.  Other than that apparent flaw, Vox Animae is an enjoyable listen … there’s just nothing here that’s likely to captivate or blow you away.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
