Threshold hails from the UK and has 10 studio albums under their belt and a small handful of live albums to their credit. European Journey is their latest 2-CD live release, which was recorded during their 2014-15 tour. Threshold is hard to categorize … their music is part Melodic Metal, part Power Metal, and part Progressive Hard Rock.
Their music is generally smooth and an easy listen, which is exemplified in this latest live release. If you’re new to the band, this live set is a great introduction to the band, and a must have for all the Threshold faithful.
Dan is a former partner at Metal Express Radio, and also served as a reviewer, photographer and interviewer on occasions. Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.

This is a great compilation of their last several albums, with a very nice setlist. If you are a fan you will want this one, if you are not it would be a great introduction to the band. Easily an 8.5 for me!
