Ambush is band out of Sweden, and Desecrator is their sophomore release. Although filled with youthful piss and vinegar, Ambush is pure old-school Traditional Metal in the vein of Judas Priest and Accept, comprised of frontman vocalist (Oskar Jacobsson), a twin axe-attack, bassist, and drummer. Oskar carries the torch for Traditional Metal vocalists, demonstrating both mid-range and upper-range talents, and the musicians all flaunt their chops admirably. Desecrator is a solid album – support this band if you’re a NWOBHM enthusiast – with so many “flavors” of Metal out there today, it’s good to see a young band succeed with proven formulas.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.

  1. Just heard this band recently on a internet show & they killed it. A very nice addition to the 80’s sounding catalog….I’d put this one right up there with Enforcer’s album this year.
