Carthagods are a band out of Tunisia that just released their self-titled debut after muscling through a host of lineup changes for about two decades. Carthagods play Metal that blends Traditional influences with a few Progressive and Power elements. Marcel Coenen, who has created and played some outstanding music with the Progressive Metal outfit Sun Caged, is one of the guitarists on this album, and he alone is worth the ticket price of this debut. With Ripper Owens singing one track and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal featured on another, what you have here is a very enjoyable (albeit short) debut record.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
