Distance is 6-piece band out of Spain, and I is their debut release. Distance plays a unique blend of Progressive Metal with Death, Modern, and Neo-Grunge influences. Imagine, if you will, Opeth blended with Mastodon combined with Alice In Chains, and you’d be pretty close in nailing down what I has on offer. This eclectic blend of genres is Distance’s strength, but at other times it’s the band’s weakness. Periodically the band generates incredibly melodic and original riffs and rhythms, however, at other times Distance seem to trip on their own originality, causing a few tracks to come across awkwardly.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
