Hellscream is the latest project headed up by vocalist Norman Skinner and guitarist Dave Garcia (Cage). The band’s style is a cross between “dirty” German Power Metal and Traditional Metal … generally a mix between Accept with Udo Dirkschneider at the microphone and Helloween.  The album starts out with a very clever play on a childhood rhyme then the “hell” in Hellscream is unleashed.  At times this album is brilliant, but at other times it’s repetitive and sounds very “low budget” from a production standpoint.  Rough Power Metal fans should enjoy to some degree, but others should probably stay away.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
